Dr. Drew Lighthart joined Vermont Orthopaedic
Clinic in August 2007, after completing his fellowship in adult
reconstructive surgery at Rush University Medical Center Hospital
in Chicago. Recent advances in arthroplasty surgery and the
potential benefits for patients inspired him to explore the
highly specialized areas of minimally invasive and the intricate
revision procedures. Dr. Lighthart trained with the country’s
most highly regarded specialists in these techniques.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Dr. Lighthart has been a competitive
athlete. His experience with sports injuries and the personal
care he received from orthopaedic surgeons inspired him to pursue
this particular surgical specialty.
Dr Lighthart earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology
from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. After graduating from
the SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine, he completed both his
General Surgery internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency
at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
