A VOC provider since 2003, Beth currently serves as an orthopaedic Physician Assistant. Her formal educational background includes a B.A. degree in Health Science from Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont, and an M.S. in Medical Science in the Physician Assistant Program at Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut. Beth's focus involves assisting Dr. Mel Boynton in the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries, sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Prior to her work at the VOC, Beth served as an EMT for the Rutland Regional Ambulance Service, and, earlier, as an Emergency Care Attendant with Castleton First Response, in Castleton, Vermont. She enjoys active memberships in several medical industry associations and organizations.

A Physician Assistant at VOC, Christa is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and holds certifications from both the Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) organizations. The focus of her work involves assisting Drs. Eric Marsh and Matthew Zmurko in trauma and spine treatment.
She received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire and also earned an AS in Alcohol and Chemical Dependency. She received Physician Assistant training at Wagner College, in Staten Island, New York.
Christa was previously employed by Monto Orthopedics, in West Tisbury, Massachusetts.

An orthopaedic Physician Assistant for VOC, Jim has been on our staff for more than 10 years. His educational background includes a B.S. in the Physician Assistant Program at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and an M.S. in Health Science, also from Duke.
Jim has worked as a physician assistant for several organizations, including the Rutland Regional Medical Center, Dartmouth College Health Service, the Ottauquechee Health Center in Woodstock, Vermont, and at the Hitchcock Clinic at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Dan Cole is a Physician Assistant working with William A. Lighthart MD. He is a 2008 graduate of the Duke University Physician Assistant Program where he earned a Master of Health Sciences degree. He attended PA school after receiving an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire in 2000.
Dan had been an athletic trainer for six years prior to becoming a Physician Assistant. He continues to hold his certification as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association. He worked as an athletic trainer at both Burke Mountain Academy and Champlain Valley Union High School. He also held the position of Clinical Lead Athletic Trainer at Fletcher Allen Health Care’s Sports and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Center.
Dan’s current clinical interests are the treatment of Osteoarthritis, surgical and nonsurgical interventions, managing the return of the active post-operative total joint replacement patient to their recreational activities, as well as current concepts in sports medicine.

Michael joined Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic in November of 2009 and assists Dr. Eric Marsh in trauma and general orthopaedic treatment and surgery. Prior to joining the VOC, he practiced as an orthopaedic physician assistant in Ithaca, New York. He has also practiced in emergency and urgent care medicine. Michael is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS).
Michael earned a B.A. degree from Houghton College before completing his masters of science in Physician Assistant studies from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
