X-Rays
X-rays are ordered
by your doctor to determine if there is bone damage. Bone damage does
not occur suddenly. It may take years for damage to show on x-rays.
The first time you
have x-rays done, they may be normal. Comparison films at intervals
will determine if there has been any bone damage. X-rays help diagnose
and treat arthritis. They can be done on any bone in your body.
X-ray studies use
beams of radiation to record an image of the part of your body that
the doctor needs to know more about.
Before any x-ray
examinations are done, it is important that you inform your doctor if
there is any chance that you may be pregnant.
