Weight Reduction
Being overweight
puts added stress on your joints. The joints most commonly affected
are the joints in your back, hips, knees and feet. Increases weight
can also make treatment more difficult.
Research has shown
that being overweight may be one of the greatest risk factors for Osteoarthritis
and losing weight can lower your chances of developing osteoarthritis.
Other than weight control, there is no special diet that should be followed
if you have arthritis.
Reducing calories
and eating a well balanced diet is essential for weight control. If
you are having trouble with weight control, ask your doctor or a dietitian
for assistance.
