Pacing Activities

Pacing activities is very important to be able to do the activities that you need and like to do. Pacing what you need to do saves energy and helps reduce fatigue. It also protects your joints from stress.

Pacing activities can be done by taking short rest periods between tasks. Alternating heavier tasks with easy ones is also important. Change tasks often so you donĚt hold joints in one position for a long period of time. Knowing your limits can make a difference in how you feel. Rest when you are tired. Arthritis and make you fatigued and experience muscle weakness.

You may get to the point where everything you do is a great effort. When you feel like this, a short nap may be helpful. Protecting your joints and making your work areas easier to use can also make activities much less difficult and you more productive.
