MRI (Magnetic
Resonance Imaging)
This is test done
to see cross sectional imaging of tissue. Abnormalities are more defined
with the MRI than with the CT Scan. It is used to visualize marrow,
soft tissue tumors, bone tumors, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones.
It is important that you remove all external metal objects and credit
cards with magnetic strips.
You will be asked
if you have any metal implants, for example a Total Joint Replacement.
You must lie still during the entire procedure. It does not require
any injection of dye.
You will be given
the results of this test by you doctor at your next office visit.
